The Difference A Year Can Make

Hi guys, I’m not really sure where to start with this post or even what to say exactly. I’m just kind of writing and whatever comes out is what comes out.
Well, a year ago, I weighed 265 pounds. I was depressed, it hurt to walk very far and I was waking up with aches and pains.
I had hated the way I looked and felt for a long time, but had never done anything to change it. Until my 30th birthday. I remember blowing out the candles making a wish that I would be in good shape by my 31st birthday.
I knew that it wasn’t going to just happen by magic though. So, I started walking. Every day, eating correctly and doing some calisthenics at night before bed.
I started out slowly of course. Just making a single lap around my apartment complex once a day. Then twice a day. Then over time, I found myself doing a mile a day. Then 2, 4, 6 and at one point, I was doing up to 15 miles per day ( Spread out through the day)
I always walked, because I hate running. I might as well keep it enjoyable.
Now, here I am 1 year later. I now walk 6 miles every day ( Well, most every day. Sometimes I’ll take a day off from walking ).
I now weigh 165 and I feel great. I feel like I just turned 20. No more aches and pains, my depression is better ( Not gone, but better) and well, I just feel like a new man.
This was the first time a birthday wish came true for me. I think because I realized that for it to come true, I had to work hard and make it come true.
This year, for my 31st birthday, I wished for continued health and to maybe slowly start trying out running some too instead of just walking!
